LITTLE SHELFORD PAVILLION

In 2014 Mead Construction were employed by local company T Butler & Son Ltd to install an access road along the edge of the playing fields in Little Shelford prior to the construction of the village’s new Pavilion.

Due to the proximity of trees a cellular grid was required to offer protection to the nearby roots. Works commenced with the vegetation being stripped off down to a level formation. A terram membrane was laid before the webbing was laid out and pinned in place. The webbing was then filled with shingle, and a layer of hardcore was put on top to offer protection whilst the construction works took place.

Upon completion of the Pavilion work we returned to site to remove the hardcore and lay new shingle and topsoil, to enable access whilst the client made a decision on the final road surface.
